BIO

Miss Amy Claire Fenn joined the Institute for Community Research and Development (ICRD) in January 2023 as a first year PhD researcher. Amy’s PhD research is building upon the existing work conducted by the evaluation team on behalf of the West Midlands Violence Reduction Partnership (WMVRP). The main focus of her research is to explore youth-led approaches to violence reduction through a social harms lens. Her PhD research explores a youth-led approach through a case study, utilising the WMVRP's youth-led My Tomorrow Campaign.

Prior to joining the ICRD, Amy attained a First Class BA Honours Degree in Criminology, Criminal Justice and Sociology and a Distinction in her Master of Arts in Comparative Criminology degree. These dissertations focused upon the media's representation and portrayal of victims and offenders of child sexual and child criminal exploitation.
