RESEARCH INTERESTS
David's research interests are focused around the use of digital technologies for all aspects of design, construction and operation. Following on from his PhD which focused on the application of 4D (3D+Time) his work in this field still continues today. In addition, he is now interested in the development of 5D (Cost) applications for the construction sector and the use of smart technologies to support the operation of buildings.
Focusing on the use of Virtual and Augmented Reality, he is also interested in the application of these technologies across the construction sector.
More recently, David has focused his research efforts on the application of BIM for Heritage (HBIM) where he has published articles on new approaches to implement advanced digital techniques. He continues to work on this field and in particular, is researching the application of BIM processes and technologies to the translocation of historic buildings in collaboration with museum partners.
