MrJonathan Rhodes PFHEA

I am an highly experienced Academic Developer in the University of Wolverhampton’s, Learning Enhancement and Academic Development (LEAD) team. I specialise in academic development, leadership, technology-enhanced learning and learning space design. I am a Principal Fellow of Advance HE, a Certified member of ALT, a qualified Coach and Mentor and member of the Institute of Leadership.

I am course lead for the PG Cert Academic Practice in Higher Education (PG CAP in HE) and Institutional lead for the KUDOS SEDA accredited programme, also acting as an experienced consultant in online/blended learning. I am a mentor/reviewer for the University's Advance HE accredited, 'KUDOS' scheme and ALT's equivalent scheme, also mentoring on the University Institute of Directors (IoD) scheme. In 2017 I authored the University of Wolverhampton Learning Spaces Strategy. I have sat on a board of Governors for an ECMAT Academy (chairing Academic Board) and am a committee member for SEDA - mentoring and accrediting nationally/internationally.

My educational background is Arts based and I was awarded my MA in 2004. Prior to moving to my current position, I worked in the University of Wolverhampton School of Art & Design. I was awarded a PG Cert in Academic Practice in Higher Education (HE) in 2012, becoming a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA) in the same year. I have been a Certified Member of the Association for Learning Technology (CMALT) since 2010, a Senior Fellow (SFHEA) since 2015 and in 2023 I gained recognition as a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (PFHEA). I was awarded my Institute of Leadership (IoL) Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring qualification in 2018 and am a certified member of the IoL.

I was a member of the Learning and Teaching Space Advisory Group (LaTSAG) awarded a Vice-Chancellor’s Award 2013, was shortlisted for a 2012 Vice-Chancellor’s Award and was a Rewarding Excellence award winner in 2009 for pioneering the use of video feedback.
