Mahuya's research interests are quite diverse, which includes gender issues including safety of women and girls, migration, ageing, service user's experience and ethnic minority community issues.

1.Supporting Families Experiencing Domestic Violence and Abuse during COVD-19: A Practitioners Perspective of Impact on Services (2021). Co-researcher with Dr Elaine Arnull and Susie Hawkes

2. Brookside Safer Streets Project: Community Participation: Evidencing change. Information for Community research participants (2021). Co-researching with Dr Elaine Arnull.

3. Strategic Migrant Needs Analysis for JSNA of Birmingham City Council (2021). Co-researching with Dr Bozena Sojka and team from ICRD

4. Preventing Gendered Violence: Lessons from the Global South. What can England and Wales learn from Women's Police Stations to Prevent Gender Violence? (2021)- Co-researcher with Dr Elaine Arnull.
5. Mend the Gap (2020) - Lead researcher of participatory research project with Direct payment lived experience experts; commissioned by West Midland Teaching Partnership; delivered by University of Wolverhampton and Shropshire Council.
6. Hearing Our Voices: Young People’s Participation in Understanding the Public’s Experience of the Knife Angel (2020) A Peer Research Project: University of Wolverhampton, Telford and Wrekin Local Authority and Telford and Wrekin Police.
7. Bucks Uncovered (2020)- Lead the secondary research uncovering hidden needs of Buckinghamshire for Heart of Bucks (Buckinghamshire Community Foundation).
8. Women research (2019) delivered as the lead researcher – A mixed method research on women and girls of Buckinghamshire revealing the social, economic and mental health needs.
9..My life my memories (2017): Lead researcher - My Life, My Memories’, focused on the experiences of people affected by dementia from different ethnic minority communities within the Buckinghamshire area. This project was Commissioned by Clinical Commissioning groups,
10. Helping hands with coloured bands (2016): Lead researcher - a participatory qualitative research that provided an insight into the interaction between elderly BME communities and social care services. The main objective of the research was to understand the integrated care needs of the specific communities and finding the knowledge gap between service users and service providers within health and social care setup.
11. Perception of Social Work: a peer evaluation (2015) – assistant researcher for the collaborative partnership project between Bucks New University and Yeading School.
12. Grey side of the sky (2013): Lead researcher for an ethnographic study exploring the journeys of British Asian women of Buckinghamshire. Three generations women shared their views on early days, reasons behind migration, isolation and language barrier to future aspirations.
