TEACHING INTERESTS
I have developed a reputation, as a keen visitor lecturer, as a supportive member of staff, providing support alongside my teaching. As a current student, I have often been able to support students, in their learning experience and with the understanding of the fabrics of the learning expectation of the University. My career at University of Wolverhampton, as developed and I have been supported with a range of opportunities. One of these is being provided the opportunity to assist in the development of new courses, as part of a validation panel in 2016/18. This has allowed me to review and reflect upon teaching styles, assessment qualities and learning outcomes for modules, which I have assisted in the tailoring of. I adapt some of the teaching styles mentioned in a range of courses awaiting validation, to incorporate into my style to benefit the students.
I have a strong belief that people working in the education sector should have an outlook of continual personal and professional development that exists beyond subject influences and that ‘all human knowledge is precious’ (Housman, in Bennett, 2004). I have an interest in an eclectic range of topics, Tudor Dynastic Monarchy, The Second World War, Domestic abuse over the century, Violence Culture and Sexual Violence Culture. As well as how technology in today’s society has adapted our understanding of these topics and whether technology has caused a negative imprint in sexual violence and domestic violence into today.
