BIO
Subashini Suresh is a Professor of Knowledge Management and Director for Postgraduate Research Programme (DPGRP) at the Faculty of Science and Engineering, University of Wolverhampton. She is an academic leader and visionary with over 20 years of experience of research, teaching and practice in the UK. She leads the Energy and Sustainability Research Group in the School of Architecture and the Built Environment. Her research network includes 31 countries, which involves projects, publications, and research collaboration. She is the lead Commission Coordinator of the CIB Commission W102 – Information and Knowledge Management in Building.
She has been a post-doctoral researcher, lecturer, senior lecturer and principal lecturer. She was Seconded as an Associate Professor at the Bradley University, United States of America. She was the REF joint coordinator for 2014 and 2021 (from 2017 to 2019) for Unit of Assessment C13 (Architecture, Built Environment and Planning). She has been a Athena SWAN champion from 2016-2019. She is currently on the Athena SWAN University Self Assessment Team.
She has lectured nationally and internationally in areas such as sustainable development, knowledge management, intersectionality, project management, smart cities and health and safety. She has contributed to 300 + publications in various international journals and conferences, and has hosted, chaired and presented at many conferences in her areas of expertise. She has successfully executed research projects in various capacities and has been the lead several projects. Successfully, she has supervised 29 PhD students. She sits on many National and International Scientific Committees to do with research in Architecture, Engineering and Construction. She is an expert panel member for the European Commission.
Her role as DPGRP includes governance, strategic planning for the growth and development of research programmes (PhD’s, MPhil etc), new areas of collaboration, development and implementation of policies and practice. Therefore, she is involved in strategic decision making and ensuring a vibrant research culture. She also works with the office of Vice-Chancellor on numerous strategic projects.
