BIO
Professor Helen Steed is a consultant gastroenterologist at the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust with specialist and research interests in inflammatory bowel disease, nutrition and medical education. She is the Secretary for British Society of Gastroenterology and Chair of the BSG Food and Function research group. Her research focus is on microbiota, biomarkers and family planning in inflammatory bowel disease.
She has a strong education background and previously acted as Foundation Programme Director for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and now serves the trust as the Director of Postgraduate Medical Education for the Royal Wolverhampton NHS Trust and Walsall Healthcare NHS Trust overseeing the delivery of the postgraduate medical education program and as the West Midlands lead DME and Associate Dean supporting the Imaging and Endoscopy Academies and West Midlands Faculty Development Lead for Medicine.
