BIO
Dr. Kenneth Imo-Imo Israel Eshiet is a senior lecturer in the department of civil engineering at University of Wolverhampton, United Kingdom. In addition, he is the subject lead of the geotechnical engineering subject area and the programme leader of the BEng Civil Engineering programme. He has extensive experience working as an engineer and academic in several academic institutions and in the industry. Amongst other skills, his professional work has provided him with a broad exposure and expertise in modelling of natural and engineered systems and processes. He is a Chartered Engineer, Corporate Member of Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE) and Fellow, Institute of Highway Engineers (FIHE), United Kingdom. He is also a vibrant member of several other professional bodies. He holds a doctorate degree in Civil Engineering from University of Leeds in tandem with other postgraduate qualifications in management and education.
His interest involves the design of engineering systems/structures, and the development and application of numerical/analytical tools to civil, structural, fluid dynamics, and geotechnical engineering problems. This include the experimental and computational modelling of processes including behaviour of underground systems, Dr Eshiet has worked on UCG and CO2 storage projects funded under the European Union (EU) Research Programme of the Research Fund for Coal and Steel (RFCS), Coal RTD. His involvement entailed the development of geo-mechanical and cavity models for UCG and CO2 storage, and the conduct of complementary laboratory experiments.
His is also invested in the formulation and conduct of optimisation and stochastic analyses applicable to structural and underground systems. This involves, for instance, the development of deterministic and stochastic models that can be applied for risk assessment, and the prediction and analysis of wellbore stability during drilling and reservoir flow.
His most recent research output include the formulation of statisitcal models to investigate hydrological-driven processes that impact geo-environmental systems.
