Teaching Experience

Dr Komali Yenneti is an experienced educator and academic leader with expertise in urban planning, sustainable built environments, geography, climate change and transnational education. Her teaching practice is research-informed, interdisciplinary and professionally oriented, combining theoretical knowledge with fieldwork, applied case studies, digital tools and industry-relevant learning.

As Programme Leader for the BSc (Hons) Geography, Urban Environments and Climate Change programmes from 2020 to 2024, she held responsibility for recruitment, curriculum delivery, quality assurance, student experience and programme enhancement. Under her leadership, the programmes achieved 100% good honours outcomes in 2020/21 and 2023/24. External examiners commended the programmes for their academic standards, student support and educational provision.

Dr Yenneti has also provided substantial leadership in transnational education. As Link Tutor for the University of Wolverhampton’s built-environment programmes delivered with SCOPE, City University of Hong Kong, she oversaw approximately 150 students across Quantity Surveying and Construction Management courses. Her responsibilities included curriculum planning, flying-faculty coordination, assessment, moderation, quality assurance, validation and accreditation. She contributed to the successful validation of the BSc (Hons) Property Management and Real Estate programme, HKCAAVQ reaccreditation and CIOB reaccreditation, while supporting good honours outcomes of 98% in 2022/23 and 95% in 2023/24.

Her module leadership spans Built Environment Dissertation, Sustainability, Brownfield Regeneration, Environmental Issues of the Developing World, Energy and Climate Change, Human Health and the Environment, and Geography of the Urban Landscape. Curriculum innovations have included redesigned module content, local and international fieldwork, practical brownfield laboratory activities, interactive digital pedagogy and the use of professional tools such as Digimap, Magic Maps and Brownfield Land Registers. Her modules have consistently achieved strong academic outcomes and student satisfaction of at least 85%.

Dr Yenneti has supervised doctoral researchers, over 20 completed MSc dissertations, three international visiting Master’s projects and more than 100 undergraduate dissertations. She has also delivered 21 invited guest lectures internationally and led education-focused projects on BIM curriculum enhancement, inclusive education and gender equality in higher education. She holds a PGCert in Higher Education and Professional Practice with Distinction, is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and received a Best Teacher Award from the Indian Red Cross Society in 2021.

In her current role as Head of Partnerships (Academic Quality), Dr Yenneti leads the development and quality enhancement of home and international academic partnerships, supporting curriculum innovation, validation, institutional capacity building and the strategic expansion of high-quality transnational education.
