RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Nazanin Khasteganan's research interests include victims/survivors of sexual violence, domestic violence, gender issues including the safety of women and girls, migration, health and new technology, obesity, spiritual health, emotional eating, religion and health, nutrition and dietetics, psychology of eating and weight control, exercise, physical activity, exercise prescription, exercise medicine, and behavioural medicine.

 

Research projects she is involved in:

 

  • Early Career Researcher Expression of Interest. The University (2024). HR Excellence in Research Award Project Team. £5,000 was awarded to one of the six early-career researchers selected to join the project team between June 2024.
  • A Dudley All Age Mental Health Needs Assessment. A Tender Notice: Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council Dudley (2023-24). GBP 70,000 (leading systematic review research as part of the project, £5,000 awarded).
  • Safer Street 4: Violence Against Women and Girls in the Night-Time Economy (2022-23). Co-investigator. GBP 50,000 (leading rapid review research as part of the project).
  • Evaluation of Domestic Violence Services, Birmingham Children’s Trust (2022-23). Co-investigator. GBP 8,000.
  • Lord Paul Fellowships Application Form 2022-23 - Co-Principal Investigators (Co-PIs). GBP 10,000 (This project was not conducted due to the investigator leaving the university).
