RESEARCH INTERESTS
Emily's primary research interests are in mathematical and computational optimisation, chaotic neural networks and biologically inspired computation. Her PhD research investigates the use and optimisation of chaotic neural network models for continuous and discrete optimisation problems.
More broadly, she is interested in artificial intelligence and machine learning, particularly computational approaches inspired by nonlinear and biological systems.
Her current and developing research interests include:
- Chaotic and recurrent neural networks
- Continuous and discrete optimisation
- Biologically inspired computation
- Artificial intelligence and machine learning
- Responsible and human-centred AI
- AI education
