RESEARCH INTERESTS

As a cyberpsychologist, my research primarily focuses on online behaviours. In particular, I study online gambling and gaming. People’s motivations for engaging in (potentially addictive) online behaviours, and the types of beliefs they hold about them, are of particular interest to me. In relation to gaming, I am interested in not just the risks, but also the potential positive benefits that people can derive from this behaviour. I am also working on a piece of research investigating the use of online learning technologies by students with additional learning needs.

I employ both quantitative and qualitative methodologies in my research, and am interested in the development and adaptation of online research methodologies.
