BIO
My PhD research project aims to standardise methodology for assessing welfare parameters within formal zoo animal welfare assessments. I will then produce a resource-efficient welfare assessment for BIAZA and EAZA accredited zoos to implement.
I graduated from my MSc in Animal Health and Welfare from Nottingham Trent University in 2021. My research project focused on the effect of zoo closures on zoo animals during the COVID-19 pandemic. My thesis has since been published in the Journal of Zoological and Botanical Gardens.
I graduated from my BSc(hons) in Zoo Biology from Nottingham Trent University in 2019. My dissertation looked at the impact of naturalistic vs. non-naturalistic appearing enrichment on the behaviour of yellow-breasted capuchins (Sapajus xanthosternos) and fishing cats (Prionailurus viverrinus) at Newquay Zoo.
