BIO
Sophie is a sociology PhD student, working within the ICRD at University of Wolverhampton. Her project focuses on the health inequalities faced by minority ethnic communities, with a particular focus on the role of the voluntary sector. Working alongside Beacon Vision a charity in Wolverhampton, her thesis will aim to demonstrate the impact of health inequalities and what needs to be done to address health inequalities.
Prior to starting her PhD she completed her Bachelor’s degree in sociology at the University of Wolverhampton and was awarded an upper second class degree and also completed a masters degree in Sociology and Social Justice at Staffordshire University where she was awarded an merit. She chose to complete a PhD with the aim of developing a career in research. Since completing her undergraduate dissertation she found a passion for research and finding out more about the world we live in.
