DrSean Starr

Dr Sean Starr is the University’s Apprenticeship and Lifelong Learning Lead. He oversees a multidisciplinary team of academics and professional services staff, coordinating the design, delivery, and quality assurance of apprenticeships in Health, Education, Science & Engineering, Leadership, Business, and Law. His work focuses on high quality teaching, learning, and professional development for a wide range of learners and employer partners.

Sean’s core interest is in connecting research with real-world practice. He leads a multidisciplinary hub that explores responsible governance and sustainability across different organisational settings. His approach is grounded in evidence-based leadership development and applied research, supporting organisations to make informed, ethical, and future-focused decisions.

He has extensive experience leading diverse teams to design and deliver bespoke learning and development programmes for local, regional, national, and international organisations. He works closely with employers to align programmes with workforce needs, improve organisational performance, and develop talent pipelines. Through these partnerships, he supports professionals at all career stages to build the skills, confidence, and insight needed to succeed in a complex and changing world.
