DrTom Mercer

I am a cognitive psychologist with specific research interests in human memory. I design and conduct experiments that investigate memory and forgetting over different timescales, with recent projects focussing on interference. I also have more general research interests in the cognitive processes that influence real world behaviour. I run the research cluster "Applied Cognition and Individual Differences" with Dr Claire Jones, and am part of the "Conspiracy Theories and Misinformation Special Interest Research Group". I teach cognitive psychology across the BSc psychology undergraduate degrees, along with supervising undergraduate and doctorate research projects.
