RESEARCH INTERESTS

My research interests include:

  • Perinatal mental health and wellbeing, including psychological wellbeing, stress, emotional regulation, and the impact of caregiving demands.
  • Burnout and wellbeing, particularly psychological factors contributing to burnout and approaches to prevention and intervention.
  • Attachment and relational processes, and their relevance to mental health and psychological interventions.
  • Trauma-informed practice and psychologically informed approaches to complex mental health presentations.
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), including emotional regulation and the application and dissemination of evidence-based DBT skills.
  • Neurodiversity and the development of inclusive psychological assessment and intervention approaches.
  • Evidence-based psychological interventions, including their adaptation, evaluation, and implementation in real-world settings.
  • Technology and psychological practice, including the use of digital approaches to support psychological assessment, intervention, training, and dissemination.
  • Feasibility and implementation research, particularly research that supports the translation of psychological evidence into clinical and community practice.
  • Knowledge dissemination and professional development, with an interest in widening access to evidence-based psychological skills and knowledge.

As a Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Ambassador, I am particularly interested in supporting the development and wider dissemination of evidence-informed psychological practice and strengthening the connection between research, clinical practice, education, and professional development.
